What are your opening hours?

All sessions are bookable, the gin shop will be open for most of the day on Friday and Saturday, see the booking schedule on the gin making sessions book now page, for an up to date calendar.

How many people can attend a session??

We can hold up to 11 people for gin making.

Is The Nab Lab accessible?

Yes

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your start time

I'm not drinking - what are the options?

We will be running alcohol-free sessions, check the events page

What if I'm not keen on tonic water?

We have options for other mixers, just let us know your preference on e-mail before your session

Is there a minimum age?

18

I am the designated driver - where can I park?

You can park on Accrington Road, near the Abbey, near the church or near the library, all within 5 minute's walk of the school

How do I redeem a voucher?

When you book online or at the shop when walking in to book

Each session differs, please see the description for each session type

What are the main ingredients used in gin production?

Juniper, Coriander Seed, Angelica Root

How does the distillation process work for gin?

You distill the raw alcohol with botanicals in the mini stills on site, then add distilled water to create a 40% ABV gin

What botanicals are commonly used in gin production?

Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Star anise, Cassia, Grains Of Paradise, Ginger, Cubeb, Cardamon, Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit, Rowan Berries, Oris Root, Liquorice Root, Elderflower, Thyme, rose Petals are some of the common botanicals used

What are the key factors that affect the quality of gin?

The raw alcohol used, the botanicals chosen and the water

Can you provide tips for creating unique flavour profiles in gin?

Know what you like eg: if you like citrus flavours, you’d want to add lemon, orange etc, if you like floral tastes, add rose petals and lavender

What are some common mistakes to avoid when making gin?

Don’t add too many botanicals and don’t use too many strong flavours together

What are some emerging trends or innovations in the world of gin-making?

Alcohol-free gin and flavoured gin continue to rise in popularity.
